The investigation into the sexual abuse allegations against former Chicago Blackhawks video coach Brad Aldrich continues. We've already learned lots of disturbing details as some former players have spoken outFormer players have co-operated with the investigation trying to help bring justice for the victim. But what about current players?TSN's Rick Westhead who's been following the investigation extremely closely was told by two players from the 2009-10 Blackhawks not to expect everybody to cooperate. "It's easy in August to say you're at the cottage with no cell service."
Players are being questioned to corroborate claims of former Hawks' players. From Westhead:"Two Blackhawks players from 2009-10 team tell me they expect at least some former teammates will decline to be interviewed by law firm Jenner & Block, hired by CHI to explore abuse claims.
One frmr player: "It's easy in August to say you're at the cottage with no cell service."
To reiterate: the reason players are being asked for interviews is to corroborate claims of former Blackhawks player, one advocate for abuse survivors tells me, adding players aren't management & it was not their responsibility to go to police or hold Aldrich accountable."
