Steve Yzerman refuses to reveal information on Patrick Kane
With free-agency in the future, the Detroit Red Wings and Steve Yzerman may have to go back to the drawing board.
Patrick Kane has had a resurgence in his career with the Detroit Red Wings this season. It has been a short-term relationship and beneficial for both parties and he was a key player in the short time he was with the club.
However, as the off-season rolls around, the question of where Kane will land next arises.
Steve Yzerman was asked about Kane's future in Detroit but Yzerman wouldn't elaborate.
He would say that both himself and Kane would consider a future in Detroit, but that doesn't sound guaranteed at this point.
Kane is still cup hunting and the last two seasons, have delivered hope but no cup.
With time in both the New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings systems, where he will choose next, given he has given his time to both and came up empty-handed?
Kane took a discount at $2.75 Million AAV to play in Detroit and scored 47 points in 50 games this season.
It seems likely he won't have a hard time finding a new home, should he and Yzerman not come to terms in July.
