Evgeni Malkin, the assistant captain for the Pittsburgh Penguins' house was broken into over the weekend, reporters claim Stanley Cup rings are missing.

One of the Penguins' top players had a break-in over the weekend and had their home burglarized.

Malkin's back door was kicked in and during the time of the break-in, his alarm system as well as his cameras happened to be down. Alongside, his safe being left open.

The day of the burglary, Pittsburg had a game at 4 p.m. against the Ottawa Senators and only a few hours later, the 911 call came in.

Multiple sources have confirmed to KDKA-TV that during this home invasion, Evgeni Malkin's Stanley Cup championship rings were taken.

Malkin has won a total of three Stanley Cups alongside the Penguins, in 2009, 2016, and 2017.

Allegheny County Police have confirmed they are currently investigating this burglary with a spokesperson advising they are looking to speak to anyone with any information.

According to CBS news

'Malkin joins a growing list of prominent professional athletes who have been the target of home break-ins. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce both had their homes broken into last year.»

He also isn't the first NHL player to have his home targeted in the last year. Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin also had his home targeted in 2024.

The FBI has recently sent a bulletin to all the professional sports leagues about organized and sophisticated burglaries that have been targeting athletes.

More details to come...
