The Chicago Blackhawks and general manager Stan Bowman have some work to do this offseason. Aside from Corey Crawford they don't really have any big UFA's to re-sign but they have a handful of RFA's that need new deals. With Chicago up against the cap crunch once again, we've heard they might buy out Olli Maatta. That would definitely help them open up some cap space and it would likely help keep restricted free agent Dominik Kubalik around. While there's some worries Kubalik could have some VISA problems for the playoffs, he won't have any problem demanding a nice pay bump. That's why Scott Powers of The Athletic believes he'll get a nice deal. Powers believes that the Blackhawks would like Kubalik's ideal extension to be for 4 years at around $5-6million a season. A nice upgrade on the $925k he makes right now. It's well deserved though after the 24 year old rookie scored 30 goals in 68 games this past season. Would you be willing to sign Kubalik to this type of contract?
