The team announced that Frank Torres, their VP of Business Operations, passed away on January 15th after falling ill.
Torres was a respected figure in the AHL community. It had been a vital part of the Barracuda organization for years, participating in league meetings and making a positive impact on many.
Frank Torres was a colleague and a friend to many in the Rockford IceHogs organization.
The IceHogs sent their condolences to Torres' family, friends, and the Barracuda team.
Both Torres and Danny Wirtz shared a goal of promoting inclusivity and growing the game of hockey, which was also shared by the IceHogs.

As the VP of Business Operations for the Barracuda, Torres oversaw fan relations, ticket sales, corporate partnerships, marketing, and communications.
He joined the Barracuda team in 2022 and played a crucial role in the opening of the Tech CU arena, as well as the successful execution of the 2024 AHL All-Star Classic.
Torres had a successful history in the AHL, having worked with the Coachella Valley Firebirds and the San Antonio Rampage. With the Rampage, he won several AHL sales and marketing awards, expanding the base in the area with a unique promotional night recognizing Mexican Heritage in 2019 called "Los Chimuelos de San Antonio".
