The last several weeks for the hockey world has been gripped with the losses of several hockey players which now includes the loss of former collegiate player of the NCAA Chad Demers.

Demers was in the battle of his life as he passed away at the age of 33 after losing a six-year battle to brain cancer.

His hockey career spanned from 2007 through 2015 where he had played for the Grafton Park river high of the USHS-ND which led him to play for Fargo forests of the USHL and Ben with Air Force Academy of the NCAA.
In his final year of play in 2014-2015, he had played 41 games, scored sixteen goals with 21 assist for 37 points along with 27 penalty minutes.
Three years later he was diagnosed with cancer but remained with the game of hockey. During his travels he was an assistant coach with the division one school of Augustana University Up until the summer of 2023.
The outpouring of support for his family has been incredible over the last number of hours as several posts have come up on the X platform. Over the past couple several weeks the NHL along with many other leagues throughout the world have been gripped with the loss of several prominent players including Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew, former NHLer Jason Cirone at the age of 53 and now Demers.
We want to extend our sympathies and support to the Demers family.
