Connor Bedard's cousin is proving to be more than a superstar
The U18 IIHF had some surprising results, as Team Canada got more than they bargained for.
Connor Bedard was notorious for being a terror in U18 play in the IIHF and his cousin, Gavin McKenna isn't any different.
In IIHF play this season, McKenna has proven himself to be a generational talent like his cousin.
He himself, had a hat-trick against Team USA today and if his international play is any indication, he's going to be a hot commodity in 2026.
The double-underager helped Team Canada achieve a Gold Medal against Team USA.
McKenna in all his skill, helped clear a 4 goal deficit in the 3rd period in order to lead Canada to Gold once again.
"I couldn't have done it without them, there were so many guys that stepped up when we needed it and it all paid off in the end," said McKenna, a 16-year-old forward with the Medicine Hat Tigers. "There was never a doubt in our room. We have built unbelievable friendships that we'll have for a lifetime."
If McKenna continues to play like he does, the comparisons to Bedard will continue to stick.
