The Calgary Flames game showed that Colin Blackwell is confident in himself, as he was interviewed by reporters after the game.

It would surprise us all when Blackwell scored 2 goals and helped the team defeat the Flames with a 4-3 score.

Since the Blackhawks' injuries are piling up, he has had to exercise the next-man-up mentality that classmates like Jason Dickinson emphasized before the match.

He also exceeded expectations when he called out his detractors in the NHL and the media after the victory.

The hatred fuels him as he keeps the receipts and cashed them in on the weekend with two points.

We need somebody like him in the lineup while Connor Bedard is out because he has a chip on his shoulder and something to prove.

Blackwell slotted in on the 1st line, centered by Jason Dickinson, and on the left wing flanked by Philipp Kurashev.

In the last 5 games, Blackwell has produced almost a point per game with 3 goals and 1 assist for 4 points.
