The Chicago Blackhawks should honor Seth Jones's trade request which was given to the media this week (albeit informal), and three contenders could be interested in him.

Seth Jones is the Blackhawks' $9.5 million dollar man, thanks to the generosity of former GM Stan Bowman.
This isn't the only error in his judgment we've seen in the past, giving rich contracts to players who are past their prime.
But with GM Kyle Davidson at the helm of the Chicago Blackhawks, he could course correct and find a way to convince Jones to waive his no-movement clause (NMC) in order to land on a contending team's roster.
While a reunion with GM Stan Bowman in Edmonton is a good hypothetical situation we could all conjure up at the moment, would it even be feasible in reality?
Given Edmonton's current cap constraints, it might be difficult, albeit a great idea to trade him there.
There are other contenders who could utilize Jones' ability to eat minutes and play on the power play and penalty kill.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes could find a spot in the lineup for Jones who has scored 26 points (6 G, 20 A) and eats on average 24:63 TOI this year.
If they decide to let Dmitry Orlov and Brent Burns walk they could easily fit Seth Jones under their tight cap, as they'd recoup $13 million.
Jones could fill the role that Burns currently plays and could do it better obviously.

Winnipeg Jets

If the Jets fail to re-sign top-four defenseman Neal Pionk, they could shift their priorities to find another right-shot defenseman.
The Jets would ironically be paying Jones less, than what Pionk is hopeful to receive with his next contract. Jones would fit into their window of contention and would offer some muscle, and offensive spark on the right.

Columbus Blue Jackets

There's nothing like a reunion to warm the soul, and with Ivan Provorov as a pending UFA, there may be something there to explore. Both team's have been trade partners before, and with the team on an upswing, he could be convinced to waive his no-movement clause where he established himself as a Norris Trophy nominee in the NHL.
