Bad news once again strikes Artyom Levshunov of the Chicago Blackhawks

It appears that 2024 2nd overall Blackhawks prospect Artyom Levshunov seems to be struggling with his game at the HL level after giving a poor performance against the Iowa Wild.

During the game where the Icehogs were tied with the Wild 3-3, Levshunov The control of the puck in the offensive zone where he attempted to make a move with his stick with the puck in which he coughed it up and allowed there forward to turn the puck back in which they scored.

Many you have chalked this up to a learning moment as Levshunov continues to develop his game at the pro level.

According to eliteprospects.com, the 19 year old defenceman who stands at six foot 2 and 209 lbs has been labeled as an offensive defenseman, two way and a speed skater. He spent one season in the NCAA in 2023-2024 where he played for the Michigan State University and had 38 games played, scoring nine goals with 26 assists for 35 points and had 44 penalty minutes.

It's well documented that defence men tend to take longer to develop then forwards and the Blackhawks have several top prospects in their defence score that are ahead of Levshunov. Plays like this are not accepted or tolerated at any level and players need to be less selfish and follow the systems that are laid out by their coach.

It's safe to say that he has much to learn but at the same time people will need to give him some runway as he continues to learn his game. He also sustained a foot injury that has kept him out of the lineup and after six games played, he scored one goal with two assists for three points and has had four penalty minutes.
