Blackhawks Connor Bedard reveals his dream linemate during interview
In a recent interview, Blackhawks superstar Connor Bedard revealed who he would choose as his dream linemate.
He spoke of several players that would intrigue him including Pittsburgh Penguins Sidney Crosby, Boston Bruins Brad Marchand but in the end he chose New York Islanders star Mathew Barzal.
He explained that he has known Barzal for many years and skated with him since he was 12 years old. He also revealed that Barzal has been a mentor of his which would put him as #1 on his dream linemates list.
Bedard along with the Blackhawks continues to prepare themselves for opening night of the new season. The Blackhawks have made major changes to their lineup which includes several purchases on July 1st by general manager Kyle Davidson.
It seems the team is willing to make the changes as they would like to escape the basement of the standings and begin the journey to rise to playoff contention. The team has had numerous high end draft picks over the past couple of years and have stocked their cupboards with many who would be eligible to play in the NHL with the next few years.
Bedard is hoping to build off of his Calder winning trophy season and begin to show the NHL who he truly is and what he has been touted to be. It remains to be seen on how well or how poorly the Blackhawks will do but with the season opener less than a few days away, Blackhawks fans should see a more exciting outcome then years past.
The Blackhawks will open their season on the road against the Utah Hockey Club on Tuesday October 8th and game time will be 10:00pm Eastern.
