A blockbuster 3 team trade rumbles the NHL on Friday, with the Carolina Hurricanes acquiring forwards Taylor Hall and Mikko Rantanen, but a latest revelation from the NHL transaction page exposes Kyle Davidson gave up another player in the deal.

Blackhawks fans spoke out on social media regarding the trade, and little did they know, another asset by the Blackhawks was given up. Check out the original trade that infuriated fans:

Carolina Hurricanes Receive
Mikko Rantanen (50% of $9.25 million salary retained by the Blackhawks)
Taylor Hall

Colorado Avalanche Receive
Martin Necas
Jack Drury
2nd round pick in 2025 draft
4th round pick in 2026 draft

Chicago Blackhawks
3rd round pick in 2025 draft
50% retained of Rantanen's salary

A concerning trade for the Blackhawks at first point of view, but things get worse as they've given up another asset

According to the TSN trade tracker, and NHL trade transaction site, the Blackhawks also gave up a 21-year old prospect who had great promise within the organization.

The Blackhawks also traded away prospect Nils Juntorp in the Rantanen-Necas-Hall trade.

Nils Juntorp, 21, has shown great promise in Sweden with multiple seasons nearing a point per game average.

Why the Blackhawks gave him up? Who knows, it must be linked to another trade being in the works and compensation was given now, or Kyle Davidson is getting taken advantage of.

The Blackhawks return of investment into retaining 50% of Mikko Rantanen's $9.25 million salary, is reminding some Blackhawks fans of former general manager Stan Bowman, and his careless moves.
