According to Interim Coach Anders Sorensen, the Chicago Blackhawks will be making changes to the lineup in Pat Maroon's absence.
The Blackhawks haven't specified Maroon's injury at this time.
Maroon has typically been on the fourth line, on the right wing, and has served as a mentor for young forward, Lukas Reichel.
The chemistry they had forged was strong at the beginning of the season, but the lines were shuffled due to a major coaching change.
Maroon has played 42 games this season with the Blackhawks and scored 11 points (2 G, 9 A).
This is another case of the Blackhawks weathering the injury bug this season.
Maroon now joins Laurent Brossoit, Craig Smith, and Connor Murphy as the list of players out of the lineup grows.
With Maroon out, the team will give Philipp Kurashev another look on the fourth line after being a healthy scratch recently.
Kurashev hasn't seen the ice since January 10th, and wouldn't see NHL ice for some time without an injury as it seems his time in Chicago may be coming to an end sooner rather than later.
The young forward has only played 31 games for the Hawks this season and hasn't been as impactful a forward as they'd hoped.
He's scored only 5 points( 2 G, 3 A) and with a whopping -28, he shows a lack of defensive effort on his end.
Could this end up being another Lukas Reichel situation? Or will they refuse to qualify him at the end of the season?
