Chicago Blackhawks make a major splash with the hiring of new general manager, former Minnesota Wild GM

The Blackhawks fan base has been questioning Kyle Davidson's moves from his general manager role for quite some time now, and it appears that motion is happening in the front office which could kick him out the door.

For those who are unaware, Kyle Davidson, the Blackhawks current general manager has been with the organization since the 2011-12 season, as he was hired on as an intern analyst.

Quickly, within just one year of being an analyst for the team, he was promoted to Manager of Hockey Administration of the Blackhawks organization.

After fifteen years within the Blackhawks organization, is Kyle Davidson's time expired?

NHL reporter Michael Russo, and Blackhawks reporter Scott Powers have confirmed that the organization has hired a longtime general manager.

Chris O'Hearn, hired by the Blackhawks, has spent six years within various NHL organizations including the Minnesota Wild and Arizona Coyotes. He brings a wealth of experience to the team, and Kyle Davidson's job is now in jeopardy.

He is a 43-year old Attorney, and according to reports, he is joining the Blackhawks front office as the Vice President of Hockey Operations. He provides expertise in contract negotiations, alongside a very good knowledge in the Collectible Bargain Agreement (CBA) by the NHL.

In 2023, the Wild 'mutually' parted ways with assistant GM Chris O'Hearn , now, he has found his way back into the NHL.

With his wealth behind organizations in the past, 43-year old O'Hearns' experience as a NHL general manager could certainly push the 36-year old Blackhawks general manager, Kyle Davidson, out the door.
