Chicago Blackhawks head coach Anders Sorensen is clearly frustrated with the teams efforts in their 6-2 loss at the Winter Classic on Tuesday, and shows it with several lineup moves ahead of their game against the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.
Sorensen has confirmed that goaltender Petr Mrazek will be benched following his performance at the Winter Classic, and goaltender Arvid Soderblom will be in goal.
Colton Dach, brother of former forward and third-overall pick by the Blackhawk Kirby Dach, will make his NHL debut on a line with Teuvo Teravainen and Frank Nazar.
With Dach being called up and Joey Anderson being sent to the AHL Joey Anderson being sent to the AHL , the Blackhawks are still left with an extra forward.
Lukas Reichel, who's played in 34 games for the Blackhawks this season is now the odd-man out and will be watching tonight's game in the press box at the United Center.
In shocking fashion, the Blackhawks confirmed that defenseman Connor Murphy is out of the lineup and rookie defenseman Wyatt Kaiser, who was recently called up from the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, will be inserted in.
The Blackhawks lineup is quite altered with these significant changes, and it looks like this:
Forwards
Bertuzzi-Bedard-Mikheyev
Hall-Dickinson-Foligno
Dach-Nazar-Teräväinen
Maroon-Donato-Smith
Defenseman
Kaiser-Jones
Vlasic-Crevier
Allan-Brodie
Starting goaltender
Söderblom
Healthy scratched players
Extras: Reichel and Kurashev
With all these changes made by the Blackhawks, do you expect them to snap their losing streak against the Montreal Canadiens tonight?
