The fallout from the horrible effort by the Chicago Blackhawks during the winter classic is now spilling over into the X platform with Blackhawks fans ripping against defenseman Seth Jones, including a team reporter.

A series of tweets has he emerged from the fan base strong language towards Seth Jones especially after he did not appear to the media during their 6-2 loss post-game press conference.

Many fans were quick to point out that the leadership group which included Nick Foligno, Connor Murphy, Taylor Hall and Connor Bedard decided to speak after the game to which Jones did not.

Jones forced 19-year old Bedard, a rookie, to address the media after a 6-2 loss, and refused to do interviews.

Many also explained their disdain because he is one of the highest paid players on this team making $9.5 million per season it has not lived up to his contract.

During the Classic, it was an all-round poor effort by the team itself which led to the loss but several players including Jones need to be held accountable and have a higher level especially with the salary they're earning.

To put that effort together in front of their home crowd especially the size it was at Wrigley Field is pathetic to say the least.

It was well documented when he signed his contract that it would be a lightning rod for the fan base and for himself if he did not produce what was expected.

Clearly that's been the case and the hate towards his contract has never gone away.

It's safe to say it will be all but impossible to move his deal as he holds a cap hit of $9.5 million and that he is only in year three of his eight-year deal.

It's safe to say that general manager Kyle Davidson will have a hard time convincing ownership to retain 50% of his salary as he will be an unrestricted free agent in the year 2030.

He also holds a no move clause which means he will need to green light any trade that could come their way if a team truly wants him.

It's an albatross of a contract and he will need to find a way to become a better player for the Blackhawks and tried to reverse what's happened. It's hard to say if this will happen but in the meantime, this is what the Blackhawks have to work with.
