Brady Tkachuk To The Blackhawks Would Complete The Rebuild

There were rumors that Brady Tkachuk would be sent to the New York Rangers earlier in the year, should GM Kyle Davidson reach out to Ottawa about Tkachuk?
Brady Tkachuk could be a game-changer for the Blackhawks. He's got skill and grit, he'd be a great compliment to the Blackhawks' first line.
He's a player who's not afraid to get dirty and drop the gloves for his teammates.
Not only that, but the Blackhawks have plenty of assets to pry Tkachuk from the Senators' arsenal, should GM Steve Staios and owner Michael Andlauer need to be convinced.
In 56 games for the Senators, he's scored 44 points (21 G, 23 A) with 101 PIMs.
This is why GM Kyle Davidson should target him come March. Everything we've said that Tyler Bertuzzi would be, Tkachuk already is and holds the Captaincy in Ottawa.
He could be the final piece for the Blackhawks' rebuild, which has marched along this season with a less-than-stellar starring cast.
What Would A Tkachuk Trade Look Like?
The cost to pry Tkachuk from the Senators would be expensive, as the team would likely ask for an NHL player, a prospect, and a first-round draft pick.
Or an NHL player, and two draft picks. The Blackhawks have plenty of draft picks they can still deal without setting back the rebuild.
The former 4th overall pick, in the 2018 NHL Draft doesn't have a no-movement clause but has a significant cap hit of $8.2 million.
Here's a hypothetical trade with Anaheim for example:
ANA gets Brady Tkachuk, OTT gets Trevor Zegras and 2025 1st
The team would have to account for that to make that work, but with the salary cap being raised soon, it should be no issue.
Either way, with the amount of talent in the pipeline one or two big pieces, like Tkachuk could stabilize the offense which has needed a meaningful addition.
Brady could be it.
