Chicago Blackhawks' Connor Bedard issues message to the Bears
Last summer, the Chicago Blackhawks made a big move by picking Connor Bedard as the first overall draft pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. Now, Bedard has extended a warm welcome to the newest members of the Chicago Bears.
Last night, the Bears made two significant picks in the top 10 of the 2024 NFL Draft. Like the Hawks, the Bears chose a potential game-changer as their first overall pick, selecting quarterback Caleb Williams.
They also snagged standout wide receiver Rome Odunze with the ninth overall pick.
Bedard, who was recently in a similar situation as both of Chicago's new potential stars, greeted them to the city with a video message shared on the Blackhawks X account.
"Chicago is the best city with the best fans, period,"
he said.
It'll take some time before Bedard, Williams, and Odunze hit the field for their respective teams in Chicago. However, it's shaping up to be a season filled with optimism for Chicago sports fans.
While the Blackhawks' season has ended, Bedard is gearing up to represent Canada in the upcoming IIHF World Championship, where he'll play alongside teammate Alex Vlasic.
