According to eliteprospects.com, the 22-year-old goaltender who stands at six foot 281 lbs was drafted by the Blackhawks in 2020, second round 46th overall. Currently playing for the Rockford Icehogs he appears to be ready to make some noise for a spot in the NHL.
Last season he played 38 games, posted a goal against of 2.65 and a save percentage of .906. One season earlier with Boston University, he had 34 games played had a goal against of 2.46 and save percentage of .913.
Many feel he'll have a great season with Rockford and it's certainly possible that he could see some games with the Blackhawks as the team continues to tinker with its lineup as it comes out of its rebuilding phase and may even start to knock on the door of pushing for a playoff spot within the next couple of years.
Currently the Blackhawks have a crowded net with Petr Mrazek, Arvid Soderblom and now Laurent Brossoit who was signed as an unrestricted free agent this summer. General manager Kyle Davidson will likely move one of these goaltenders near the deadline to recoup more assets.
Which will pave the way for Comesso to get his chance to play for the Blackhawks.\
