The Blackhawks have traded Seth Jones, finally. After tons of speculation, they've finally bit the bullet and cashed out big time.

The Blackhawks have dealt defenseman Seth Jones in shocking fashion, after weeks of wanting to find a new home for the $9.5M defenseman.
Kyle Davidson has moved Jones to the Florida Panthers, and has retained 25% of his salary, a whopping $2.375M.
Chicago is getting much younger, and a former 13th overall pick is heading to the Blackhawks.
That's not all the Blackhawks are receiving, Kyle Davidson managed to land a first round pick alongside the highly touted goaltender.

Blackhawks' return for Seth Jones revealed

Trade details, per sources:

To #TimeToHunt:
D Seth Jones
2026 4th Round Pick

To #Blackhawks:
2026 1st Round Pick
G Spencer Knight

#Blackhawks retain $2.5 million on Jones for next 5 seasons.

Pick slides to 2027 if Florida doesn't have 2026.
Credit to general manager Kyle Davidson for getting rid of Jones, a once named Stan Bowman mistake.
Another Kyle Davidson Masterclass, he secured another 1st round pick & our goalie of the future.
All by offloading a guy who doesn't want to be on the Blackhawks, with an awful contract.
