Chicago Blackhawks sign forward who fought his teammate in viral video

The Chicago Blackhawks and Kyle Davidson have made a signing today, that keeps their depth options intact.

Today, the Blackhawks signed Zach Sanford who was claimed off of waivers by the team on January 6th.

Sanford has signed a one-year, two-way deal that runs through the 2024-2025 NHL season. The AAV is the current league minimum at $775K.

The 29 year old forward, has score 6 points(3 G, 3 A) appearing in 13 regular season games with the Rockford IceHogs.

He would also keep his production up during the Calder Cup Playoffs, being 1st on the club in goals with two, and tallying four points total during the playoffs.

Sanford was utilized by the Blackhawks for 18 games during the regular season, notching four assists, along with two assists in 11 games with the Arizona Coyotes prior to being claimed off of waivers.

He was also productive with the AHL's Tuscon Roadrunners, scoring 4 points( 1 G, 3 A) in 16 games.

In Rockford, Sanford proved useful during the Calder Cup playoffs, netting two goals on March 27th against the Chicago Wolves, and two more against the Milwaukee Admirals on April 2nd.

On March 30th, he also scored 3 points( 2 G, 1 A) against the Chicago Wolves on March 30th with a 6-0 shutout victory.

The towering 6'4" 206 pound forward, has appeared in 334 NHL games, split between the Washington Capitals, St. Louis Blues, Ottawa Senators, Winnipeg Jets, Nashville Predators, Arizona Coyotes and Blackhawks.

The forward who was drafted in 2013 by the Washington Capitals, won his first and only Stanley Cup with the St. Louis Blues in 2019.
