The Utah Hockey Club's Jaxson Stauber's career has hit an all-time low, as he is now headed to Tuscon.

Former Chicago Blackhawks goalie Jaxson Stauber was thought to have found a new home in Utah.

This season he's played only 4-games in the NHL with the team, while starting goalie Connor Ingram has been out.

Despite his best efforts, the team has decided to send him back to the AHL and bury him, mirroring the way the Blackhawks relegated him to Rockford.

This season in 4 GP with the Hockey Club, he's won 2 games, with 1 shutout, along with a 2.23 GAA and a .925 save percentage.

This raises the question: Should this be happening? Especially since goalie Karel Vejmelka hasn't put up great numbers this season.

With Stauber's return to the AHL, and Vejmelka's ascension into the starting role the Hockey Club's goalie situation looks tenuous.

Ingram will need to reclaim the starting position, as Vejmelka has surprisingly overtaken both Stauber and Ingram, who recently returned from an AHL conditioning stint.

If anything Ingram's earlier stats from the year paint an uglier picture, as Andre Tourigny's judgment should be put into question.

Ingram posted a measly .871 save percentage and 6-4-3 record in 13 games prior to his injury.

While Stauber's numbers look consistent, and like someone you'd want in the crease in the NHL:

Stauber played in four games while filling in for Ingram. He recorded a 2-1-1 record and .925 save percentage, bringing his career totals up to a 7-2-1 record and .916 save percentage in 10 NHL games. Stauber has been just as productive in the minors, going 5-2-0 and setting a .930 in seven games with Tucson this season.

It seems that Tourigny is using recency bias in regard to his decision-making. Stauber will have to continue his excellent play in order to get another shot at an NHL job, as it won't come in Utah.
