Scene Not Shown on TV: Connor Bedard Singles Out a Fan Before Facing the Avalanche Wednesday
Before the Chicago Blackhawks dished out a loss to the Colorado Avalanche, Bedard was busy making a fan's day.
Connor Bedard is a former Calder Trophy-winning center in the NHL, and scored 61 points during his rookie season.
Now, this season he's working to pull himself out of the slump we saw earlier in the season. While the team is still working to translate Anders Sorensen's new directive into wins, Bedard is winning fans hearts.
Before the Hawks would defeat the Avalanche last night 3-1, Bedard skated around during warm-ups, while a fan wearing a Patrick Sharp jersey received a puck.
Bedard made the fan's day by ensuring the adult in the stands got it to the right person. The young fan was overjoyed.
The older gentleman in the stands wearing the classic Blackhawks jersey had to have known how it felt to receive a puck in that manner before.
A heartening scene as the hockey community should act, as one inclusive body.
Instead of adults stealing from kids, which we've unfortunately seen recently, the crowd in Chicago seems to have camaraderie down pat.
The kid in the Patrick Sharp jersey was fortunate enough to receive a warm-up puck, but also witness the Blackhawks dismantle the Colorado Avalanche.
Bedard could have scored 3 points last night if his disallowed goal with the "kicking motion" hadn't been called back.
Last night regardless, Bedard still came out on top with 2 points (1 G, 1 A) against
Nathan MacKinnon and the Avalanche.
Petr Mrazek held out long enough for a win against the former 2022 Stanley Cup champions.
Last night, Mrazek held on to save 36 of 37 shots, with a .972 save percentage.
