WGN Reporter Charlie Roumeliotis shared footage of Alex Vlasic and Colton Dach's day with cancer survivor Stephen Foltin.
Of course, when you engage in charity work, you don't brag about what you do so we never expected to see the footage of Alex Vlasic on a sled.
However, he and teammate Colton Dach joined him after practice as they raced Blackhawks fan and cancer survivor Stephen Foltin.
All three had a ton of way, as they got on their sleds and raced their way to the neutral zone.
It appeared Alex Vlasic crossed the finish line first.
However, Foltin can say he won it all, as he experienced a Blackhawks' practice with some of his favorite players on the ice.
While afterward, we can see the joy spread among the bunch, as the players connected with another local fan.
Honestly, I wish we could see more NHL clubs make gestures like this often.
Foltin's profile can be found on the St. Baldrick's Foundation Page as an honored kid, wearing a Blackhawks' Hockey Fights Cancer jersey.
He has recently beat Ewing Sarcoma, and what better way to rejoice in the victory than with your friends and favorite team!
I first shaved my head 10 years ago with my good friend and continued to fundraise for St. Baldrick's. This is the first year I am not shaving my head for St. Baldrick's as I was diagnosed with bone cancer October 2023. This year I am asking friends and family to continue fighting for all kids inpacted by cancer. I am hoping that many of you will donate or join my team, Foltin's Fighters. Come to the event on March 14th, it will be a lot of fun.
On April 5th, 2024 he led an event at the Franklin Park Fire Department that raised over $17K for kids like himself fighting cancer.
A true hero amongst his peers.
