Major rumor involving Patrick Kane has just been confirmed by himself
The summer of 2024 just got a whole lot more exciting with Patrick Kane seemingly confirming a rumor regarding his future with the Detroit Red Wings.
Kane has issued an online statement via the social media platform X. News of free-agent forward Patrick Kane entering the free agency frenzy, Kane, who spent his entire career with the Chicago Blackhawks until he was moved away during the team's rebuild, had stints with the New York Rangers and the Detroit Red Wings.
Unfortunately, the Red Wings missed the playoffs by just one win this season. Now, with Kane confirming the rumour himself of parting ways via social media, the anticipation for free agency to kick into high gear is even more exciting.
Will Kane return to Chicago, will he join a contending team, or will he announce his retirement? The answer remains uncertain.
His statement on social media says a farewell to Detroit, thanking the organization, teammates, coaches, and fans for their support during his time there.
"Thank you, Red Wings, my teammates, coaches, and all the fans of Hockey Town for welcoming me and my family with open arms this season," Kane expressed. "This past year gave us memories we'll never forget. The work doesn't stop. #LGRW"
Stay tuned as the summer frenzy unfolds, and we discover where Kane's next chapter in the NHL will take him.
