If it wasn't for Marc-Andre Fleury's agent Allan Walsh we'd have never known the story of Flower's humanitarian practices in the Edmonton Bubble in 2020.
The Minnesota Wild goalie is due to retire at the end of the season and has won a Vezina Trophy and multiple Stanley Cups.
While his name will be etched in history for his achievements, those done off the ice will remain in the memory of those affected as well.
In 2020 while the NHL still had protocols to protect the players from the virus going around, Fleury made a huge gesture for the community center in Edmonton.
He bought food for the Boyle Street Community Center in Edmonton and arranged to deliver meals to the workers.
Fleury's known primarily as a prankster by his teammates, and one of the best goalies in the NHL.
Instead of being boastful about his good work in the community, he'd rather let his kindness speak for itself. That's something not a lot of celebrities who do charity work learn.
However, for Flower, it is a way of life for him, and humility is something he loves to practice.
Fleury has put himself among the greatest in the NHL, and will most assuredly secure a spot in the Hockey Hall of Fame, with 1,000 games played and 570 wins during his career.
His reputation will remain as one of the best to do it, all the while with a wholesome, vibrant image as someone you'd want to hang out with based on his personality alone.
Hopefully, his teammates can learn from Flower, emulate his generosity and kindness, and practice it without expectations or publicity.
It'd be a great shift in the image for the NHL, as they'll need another good guy like Fleury to continue to provide positive influence after he's gone.
