NHL referee Steve Kozari knocked unconscious in frightening collision
A frightening collision unfolded in the NHL last night that has everyone sending their best wishes to veteran referee Steve Kozari.
During the game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Pittsburgh Penguins, Kozari suffered a serious injury that has left many in the hockey community worried.
The accident occurred when Kozari collided with Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Haydn Fleury near center ice.
Leah Hextall, during the live broadcast, confirmed that Kozari lost consciousness due to the impact with Fleury. Both teams emptied their benches and gathered on the ice to show support for Kozari as he was being carried off.
The Lightning later announced that Fleury would not be returning to the game, our thoughts are with both Kozari and Fleury as they recover from this scary incident.
