Laurent Brossoit's Tough First Year with the Blackhawks

Laurent Brossoit's first season with the Chicago Blackhawks has been a bust so far, and it's easily deemed as Kyle Davidson's worst-off-season acquisition by the organization by far.
The team signed him last summer to a two-year, $6 million deal, hoping he'd bring in a veteran presence for goaltender Arvid Soderblom.
But he hasn't played a single game yet-and it doesn't look like he will after a recent report on his injury from team reporter Ben Pope.
Goalie coach Jimmy Waite recently told the Chicago Sun-Times' Ben Pope that Brossoit likely won't return this season.
Laurent Brossoit (lower-body) is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

*Signed a two-year, $6.6 million contract in the offseason but has yet to appear for CHI.
The 31-year-old had meniscus surgery in August, with a recovery plan of five to seven weeks.
That meant missing training camp, but the hope was he'd be back early in the season.
At first, they thought he'd debut during the team's opening road trip. Then in October, he was supposed to start skating again and build up over a few weeks.
But by November, that changed to «out indefinitely» after a second knee procedure.
GM Kyle Davidson stayed hopeful in January, but now it's clear Brossoit's season is done.
It appears that the Blackhawks failed to do their research when adding a $6.6 million goaltender on their payroll.
Brossoit had a strong 2023-24 with Winnipeg, having a 2.00 goals-against average and .927 save percentage in 23 games, he also won a Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Arvid Soderblom, who Brossoit was meant to replace, has stepped up big-time for the team this season.
After a rough last season, he's improved his save percentage and has lead to the Blackhawks' wins over playoff teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Blackhawks just got 23-year-old Spencer Knight in the Seth Jones trade and he's now the main guy in net, with Soderblom as backup.
