The Chicago Blackhawks are 6-10-1 after a 3-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken last night. This has angered Captain Nick Foligno, who has been pushed to his breaking point.

The Blackhawks were unable to mount a solid offense against the Kraken, led by Dan Byslma, and Jordan Eberle.

The Kraken saw a lethal combination of goal-scorers on an abysmal, Blackhawks defense.Brandon Tanev, Jaden Schwartz, and Matty Beniers all scored on the Hakws last night.

During post-game interviews, Nick Foligno didn't hold back on the team.

«(It's about) wanting to score, wanting to get in the hard areas, wanting to make a difference, wanting to be around the net and pay a price,» Foligno told the Chicago Sun-Times' Ben Pope after the defeat. «We just don't have enough guys wanting to do that. Tonight, especially after the way we set things up to have a few days off and feel good and get ready, it's too bad.»
-Nick Foligno

The Blackhawks looked unable to hold off the Kraken offense and were unable to find a way to build pressure on either end.

Nor did they cut off the Kraken at the neutral zone, and it seems as if they're competing for another top draft pick in 2025.

Foligno rightfully called out a squad that lacked significant effort on the ice, and the only player who made a huge effort other than Connor Bedard was Ryan Donato.

Donato has continued to do his best to generate offense and has been rewarded for it. The rest of the team seems to be in a slump lately.

A recurring theme in the season's early going, the Blackhawks made a third-period push that proved to be too little, too late. The Hawks generated 10 scoring chances but only one high-danger opportunity in the final frame before Brandon Tanev sealed the deal with an empty-netter.

Typically the third period is where the Blackhawks would do their best to generate pressure in the other team's end. But that never happened and they'd fail to live up to even Nick Foligno's expectations which were shown in an episode of "Every Shift"

The Blackhawks themselves are setting themselves up for failure, as chemistry is hard to generate. When you consistently remain inconsistent with line combinations, it's hard to know your linemates patterns, and quirks.

While they remain near the bottom of the league with 2.41 goals per game and a dismal 43.94 CF%. at even strength per Natural Stat Trick.

A percentage which if you're controlling the ice on the, you need to be above 50 to have any chances of dominating the opposition.
