Oilers GM Stan Bowman makes appearance to support former Blackhawk Kyle Beach in new career

Edmonton Oilers general manager Stan Bowman showed his true colors towards former Chicago Blackhawks player Kyle Beach on Friday night at a hockey game in Alberta, when both were in attendance.
Oilers general manager Stan Bowman was accepted back into the NHL this off-season after approval from NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, and a swift apology after many, many years to former Blackhawks player Kyle Beach.
Bowman was suspended by the NHL for two full seasons, due to issues within the Blackhawks organization, the victim being Kyle Beach.
«I actually called Kyle [Beach] last night to give him a heads up that this was happening today,» Bowman said. «We had a nice conversation, we talked for about 15 minutes and I don't want to share the details of it but I will say it was a very encouraging conversation.»
Bowman said after his hiring by the Edmonton OilersSome believed that Bowman only phoned Kyle Beach as a result of his NHL return, as he would have faced significant backlash for making an NHL return before an apology was issued.
But Bowman took things to another step, addressing the 2010 situation and meeting Beach in person, still, for the first time in quite a while, oddly around his NHL return time.
«We ended up talking for probably close to 90 minutes. Covered a lot of different things, we certainly talked about 2010 and that situation but then things shifted. We started talking about his family. «I think that was a big moment for both of us,» Bowman said. «We spent a day and a half together, we certainly reflected on the past, but I think it was more so looking ahead to how we could kinda mend fences and I could bring something of value to his team.

Fast forward halfway into the NHL season of Stan Bowman's first year back as a general manager, and Bowman shows up big for Kyle Beach, attending a game he was coaching.
Edmonton Oilers GM Stan Bowman is in attendance tonight as the University of Alberta Golden Bears host the Trinity Western Spartans.
Bowman is showing support for Kyle Beach, Spartans assistant coach, who he has worked to form a positive relationship with.

This is a nice gesture by Bowman, and certainly shows promise in a friendship between the two.
The Trinity Western Spartans, Beach's team he is coaching, lost the game 5-0, and will face off against the Alberta Golden Bears once again on Saturday as they seek a win.
