The Avalanche looked thin offensively, as they were missing Valeri Nichushkin and Gabriel Landeskog. One player is out on IR(Landeskog), and the other is not eligible for reinstatement until November(Nichushkin).
The Blackhawks dominated the majority of the game and looked solid offensively from start to finish. While of course, the defense wasn't perfect they can always improve their next game.
Ryan Donato, Philipp Kurashev, Lukas Reichel, and Ilya Mikheyev contributed to the former 2022 Stanley Cup Champ's downfall tonight.
The Blackhawks would strike early, with Philipp Kurashev leading the way with the 1st goal on the power-play.
Alex Vlasic would prove to be the pivotal part of the play, taking a shot from the left side of the ice, and gaining possession of the puck after his missed shot. He'd skate behind Alexandar Georgiev, and find Phiipp Kurashev in the open, make the pass and Kurashev would shoot the puck past the glove side for the Blackhawk's 1st goal of the night.
Lukas Reichel would score the 2nd goal of the night, on a deflection from Craig Smith, as they attacked from the left side of the ice.
This would be his first goal of the season, and his fourth point for the year. The fourth line continued their tear last night.
Donato would post 2 goals last night, with his fourth and fifth goals of the season collected against the Colorado Avalanche and Alexandar Georgiev.
Dickinson would do his best to pass the puck out to the point to Connor Murphy, who'd shoot the puck and be blocked by Mikko Rantanen, which led to Dickinson gaining possession to shoot the puck again.
Dickinson would shoot the puck, with Donato in the dirty area of the net, and would deposit the high shot of Dickinson's into the net off of a deflection resulting in a Blackhawks led, and domination of the Avalanche.
Donato would cement the Blackhawks' defeat of the Avalanche with a 2nd goal on the night, an empty netter:
Ilya Mikheyev would find the back of the net tonight to finalize the win, with a 5-2 score.
It of course was the last empty netter for the night, as Bednar would foolishly remove Alexandar Georgiev from the net in a failed attempt to gain any kind of a foothold against the disciplined Hawks tonight.
This win leaves the Blackhawks 3-6-1 and it was a strong showing against Nathan MacKinnon the Avalanche.
May the Blackhawks continue their dominance against the San Jose Sharks on Halloween, October 31st at 10:30 PM.
