Bryan Bickell to be honored by Rockford IceHogs, Blackhawks and AHL issue a statement

Bryan Bickell was an amazing depth player for the Chicago Blackhawks throughout their three-Stanley Cup wins in 2010, 2013 and 2015, he served a strong role, bouncing between the third and fourth line.

The Rockford IceHogs are hoping for a big year with star-studded prospect talent such as Frank Nazar, Kevin Korchinski and soon to be Artyom Levshunov, and now, they are giving their youth some motivation by honoring a Blackhawks legend.

The IceHogs announced that they will be honoring a past player in Bryan Bickell with a ceremony. Bickell scored a clutch goal on several occasions for the Blackhawks, he seemed to become a greater player once the playoffs hit.

People tend to only think about players like Marian Hossa, Duncan Keith, Patrick Kane and Sharp, Brent Seabrook and Corey Crawford as the main guys from the 'dynasty era', but also tend to forget depth players like Bickell.

Bickell also served a large role with the Rockford IceHogs, playing in 227 games recording 56 goals and 59 assist for 115 points.

The ceremony will be on Saturday, February 15th, 2025.

Bickell retired from hockey much earlier than he wanted to due to a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis during the 2016-17 season while he was playing for the Carolina Hurricanes.

As Bickell made many smile on and off the ice in his time in Chicago, we hope to see fans packing the Ice Hogs' barn to put a large one on him.
