Blackhawks Have Connections to the Four Nations Faceoff

The anticipated Four Nations Faceoff is here, marking the first best-on-best international hockey event since the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
While the Blackhawks don't have as much representation as in past tournaments, there are still reasons for fans to tune in.
Teuvo Teravainen is the lone active Blackhawk participating, representing Finland in a depth role on a stacked roster.
Former Blackhawks to Watch
Finland: Former Chicago first-round pick Henri Jokiharju (Buffalo), Olli Määttä (Utah), and Kevin Lankinen (Vancouver) are all on the Finnish roster. Lankinen has had a strong season and could see some playing time.
Sweden: Gustav Forsling, one of the NHL's top defensemen, will play on Sweden's top pair-a painful reminder of Chicago's mistake in letting him go.
Canada: Brandon Hagel, now a key piece for Tampa Bay, earned a spot on a loaded Team Canada roster and will bring scoring depth.
United States: No former Blackhawks, but plenty of Hawks fans will be cheering for Team USA.
Mitch Marner (Canada) and Mikko Rantanen (Finland) are both pending free agents, and the Blackhawks are expected to pursue them. Davidson will get a close look at both players in this tournament.
Connor Bedard didn't make Team Canada, but it's no surprise given the competition. His focus should now be on making next year's Olympic team.
While the Blackhawks' presence in this tournament is limited, there are still plenty of interesting connections to follow.
