Blackhawks without goaltender: mysterious injury?

The Chicago Blackhawks are playing in their one of two-games on the road in the pacific division road trip tonight against the Seattle Kraken, and they are still without goaltender Laurent Brossoit, who has mysteriously been injured since signing in Chicago this off-season.

Without even stepping on the ice, Brossoit finds himself in a tough situation. Being a Stanley Cup Champion, Brossoit decided to take his veteran presence to Chicago this off-season, signing a 2-year $3.3 million dollar deal. However, he may not be seeing the ice anytime soon.

His timeline has switched several times, according to Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson. And with his recent comments, some find them misleading, as he was already supposed to be back with the team:

.

I don't think he's coming on the trip yet, but (he's) definitely progressing,» Richardson said. «We're probably going slower with a big goalie, making sure that everything is healing properly and not rushing that.»
His comment, "I don't think he's coming on the trip yet"

Richardson hints at a return shortly, but still no date set in stone.

Laurent Brossoit is on the ice today, but Luke Richardson still didn't have a timeline for him.

Alec Martinez has been cleared to travel on the Blackhawks' upcoming road trip. He's skating today and will practice with the team on Wednesday.
