This Blackhawks Prospect is a Sniper!
GM Kyle David might've found a real steal with the 92nd overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
That pick was used to select winger Jack Pridham from the BCJHL's West Kelowna Warriors.
Pridham has committed to Boston College in the fall and was busy showing off his skills yesterday.
He'd go five-hole on the Vernon Vipers goalie Colin Reay, in what was a sick snipe from the slot.
Pridham was ranked 65th amongst all NA skaters prior to the 2024 NHL Draft, and The Hockey Writers were gushing about his offensive capabilities before being selected by GM Kyle Davidson and the Hawks.
Pridham is a very versatile offensive threat, be it finishing or setting up plays. He has the vision to make creative plays and passes to his teammates, either in tight or making strong and accurate cross ice passes. However, it's his shot that stands out. He does a fantastic job of making himself open and getting into the shooting lanes, making himself a prime shooting target. He does a great job to make himself get lost and then strike quickly when he gets into position. He's constantly following the play to maintain separation from his opponents to remain a shooting threat. He shows great deception in his release when he carries the puck into the open ice and has a powerful and accurate one-timer when given that time and space.
Pridham's development is still continuing as he heads to the NCAA in the fall to play for Boston College.
His offensive abilities have let him become a 49-point scorer in the BCHL and hopefully, he can continue to be the offensive weapon, that led to the Blackhawks drafting him.
It sounds with his draft profile, that this was nothing less than a steal.
