The Chicago Blackhawks should consider trading Lukas Reichel, as he's been pushed out of the lineup by Colton Dach.

The Blackhawks completed a major transaction today that sent Joey Anderson to the AHL, and called up prospect Colton Dach from the Rockford IceHogs.

As a result, former 1st round pick Lukas Reichel finds himself in a similar position he was in last season.

Which is unfortunate cause he's made headway this year, on the same line as Pat Maroon, and Craig Smith. But unfortunately according to Interim Coach Anders Sorensen he's not doing a good job enough to stay in the lineup.

In 34 games this season he's scored only 11 points( 3 G, 8 A) and has seen the majority of the season utilized on the fourth line.

With news of his benching, it might be smart to ask what is Lukas Reichel's future with the Chicago Blackhawks?

He was drafted 17th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft and has played with the Blackhawks full-time going on two years now.

GM Kyle Davidson had to send him down to the AHL at the end of last season in order to build up his confidence enough to call him up once more.

But in this case, instead of letting him get more seasoning in the AHL, it appears he hasn't been able to put it together during his short stint in Chicago this far.

Should the Blackhawks trade Reichel and see what they can get in return for assets and draft capital?

The "prove-it" deal of Reichel's could be considered a bust, or like his 2020 peers, he may take a little bit longer to mature in the NHL.

Either way, the Blackhawks will have to decide what to do now that he once again finds himself out of the lineup this season.
