BREAKING: Terrible news hits the Detroit Red Wings
The Detroit Red Wings are facing some tough luck just ahead of the NHL trade deadline.
Head coach Derek Lalonde confirmed on Monday that star forward Dylan Larkin will be sidelined for at least the next two weeks due to a lower-body injury.
The injury occurred during a game against the Florida Panthers, but Lalonde didn't provide further details about the extent of the injury.
With Larkin out, the Red Wings are adjusting their lineup, with Joe Veleno stepping in between Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane.
Lalonde mentioned that they won't be calling up any additional players to fill Larkin's spot for now.
