Logan Mailloux, the controversial prospect, has been given the green light to play in the NHL after being summoned to the Montreal Canadiens.

Mailloux the 31st overall pick of the 2021 draft got caught up in a major scandal and ended up facing criminal charges in Sweden, he faced a fine imposed by the authorities.

Consequently, Mailloux's involvement in the Ontario Hockey League was suspended indefinitely in September 2021. However, it is worth noting that the ban was eventually lifted in late December of the same year. Despite his request not to be drafted, the Canadiens' former management, led by Marc Bergevin, still chose him in the first round.

So, fast forward three years, after an amazing AHL season, the Montreal Canadiens have decided to include him in their final game of the season. However, the NHL needed to approve it first because of some agreements made after he was drafted.

The NHL and Gary Bettman have released this statement in regards to Logan Mailloux's return to the final game

"We have met with Logan Mailloux multiple times over the course of the last eight to 10 months. We are comfortable that he recognizes the gravity of his prior conduct and is committed to making better and more responsible decisions in the future. He has been cleared to participate in National Hockey League play."

The reactions of fans differ, spanning from anticipation to disapproval. We are optimistic that Logan Mailloux has dealt with his behavioral issues and has made strides in seeking forgiveness from the victim of his wrongdoing in Sweden. The time has come for him to make his NHL debut.
