NHL insider exposes Max Domi's future with the Toronto Maple Leafs
In his efforts to revamp the Toronto Maple Leafs' lineup, Brad Treliving, the newly appointed general manager, executed various strategic moves. Notably, he finalized a one-year contract worth $3 million with Max Domi, who happens to be the son of the beloved former Leafs enforcer Tie Domi.
Let's take a look at Max Domi's first year with the Leafs
With 78 games under his belt in his debut season with the Leafs, he has notched nine goals and provided 36 assists.
Domi's NHL career
Domi's NHL career has seen him participate in 659 games, where he has consistently made an impact. His impressive tally includes 130 goals and 285 assists, showcasing his ability to contribute both as a scorer and a playmaker. Notably, he has represented the Columbus Blue Jackets, Montreal Canadiens, Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks, and Dallas Stars during his time in the league.
Here's what NHL Insider James Mirtle has to say about Domi becoming a free agent during the summer
"For a guy that's bounced around a lot, I'm almost certain what he's looking for is term. I don't think it's out of the question (staying in Toronto), I just think he's going to have to take less money to stay here. If I'm him, you're probably looking at four-by-four or something like that. I could see a world where something comes together, but it would have to be driven by him really wanting to be here and not just going for the most term and dollars he can get."
The big question remains.. will Brad Treliving re-sign Domi? or will he focus on addressing team needs?
