General manager Kyle Davidson and his staff are preparing for another NHL Entry Draft and it appears that their top draft target Ivan Demidov will not join the organization.

The news broke when Scott Powers revealed who's information after interviewing a veteran KHL scout about Demidov. It was stated by Demidov but he wished to remain with SKA St Petersburg for one more year to honor his contract and then decided to come over to North America and play in the NHL.

It's been a toss up between Demidov and star prospect defenseman Arytom Lenshunov who will also be available for the Blackhawks has it's a foregone conclusion that Boston University star Macklin Celebrini will go first overall.

Davidson faces tough choice at 2nd overall

According to eliteprospects.com, the 18 year old right winger 30 games for Saint Petersburg, scoring 23 goals, 37 assists for 60 points who was a + 47. A player of his caliber would certainly bode well for the Blackhawks as many feel he will be a fifty goal scorer once his career begins in the NHL.

Davidson will take his time with his staff and his scouts and weigh out everything about both players and no matter who they choose the Blackhawks will be better than they are now. It's all part of their plan to help put size and great talent around Connor Bedard as the team looks towards the future.
