The Chicago Blackhawks have recently traded up in the draft, exchanging picks with the New York Islanders.

Kyle Davidson and the Blackhawks will not only be picking 2nd and 18th in the 1st round.

With the 2nd pick, the Blackhawks could ostensibly pick a generational talent in SKA St. Petersburg's Ivan Demidov.

According to The Athletic's Scott Wheeler, he is set to be one of the best wingers in the NHL, when he reaches his prime.

Much like we heard last year about Matvei Michkov in the 2023 draft, Demidov his teammate may be all of that and more. He and Michkov played together during the 2021-2022 season.

Unlike Michkov it seems that Demidov will not be dropping in the draft, but will be just as coveted.

In the MHL, Demidov played 30 games, with SKA-1946 St. Petersburg, posting 60 points( 23 G, 37 A) just below the 2nd best hockey league in the world.
