GM Kyle Davidson and the Chicago Blackhawks are a week out from the 2024 NHL Draft in Las Vegas.

Many GM's will be moving with intent to improve their rosters through drafting and development, or by trades.

And Kyle Davidson could made a huge decision that would affect the Blackhawks' future.

As Columbus Blue Jackets GM Don Waddell stated as a press conference, the Blue Jackets were open to moving the 4th overall pick, if the price was right.

Projected picks to be available at 4th could end up being: Ivan Demidov or Cayden Lindstrom to name a few.

«There's teams around us talking about trying to move back a little bit if your're going to get a nice asset with it,» Waddell said. «We're open [to moving the pick]. If we keep the pick, we'll get a great player, and if we trade the pick, it's going to have to be a great deal for us.»

Should a pick later in the draft not fit the team's needs, perhaps Kyle Davidson could convince Waddell to part with the 4th overall pick, and add another winger in the mix, but what will the cost be?

According to Tankathon, their projections have Columbus picking Cayden Lindstrom at 4th overall.

Which we all know doesn't fit the Blackhawks' needs, while they project the Blackhawks taking Demidov 2nd overall.

It's really interesting thought, has Ivan Demidov's stock rebounded last from when rumors were spread about his play and character?

Regardless, should the need arise, we're sure Kyle Davidson has the willpower to make a trade with Columbus work, given their established trade history already.
