In a recent Swedish Hockey League game between Leksand and Oskarshamn, things got heated when Leksand goalie Mantas Armalis sucker-punched Oskarshamn's Olli Palola.
Armalis blindsided Palola with a hard punch to the head, leaving Palola struggling to stand.
The video of the incident quickly spread, causing outrage among fans and officials. Palola needed help to leave the ice and was later diagnosed with a concussion. His coach called it an "assault."
The SHL is now investigating, and Armalis could face a suspension.
Violence isn't the answer on the ice, and players, including goalies, need to find better ways to deal with frustration without putting others at risk.
