With the NHL getting ready for playoffs the only hockey on in New York was the annual game between the New York Police Department and New York Fire Department in what is usually a friendly exhibition.
Well that wasn't the case Saturday night as both teams got physical with each other throughout the contest, which continued from start to finish.
The Fire fighters were winning this one with 30 seconds remaining in the 3rd period when Thomas Esposito of the FDNY and Ryan Dermody of the NYPD decided to kick it old school dropping the gloves while Paul "Biznasty" Bissonnette went wild in the booth while calling the fight.
Initially, Dermody seemed to have the upper hand, but Esposito hit 'em with that 1-2 Mayweather which sent Dermody crashing down. Although Dermody was still holding on to Esposito, it was clear that he was seeing stars.
The officials on the ice stepped in to protect him from any further harm, this is probably the only time you can punch a cop and get a way with it also!
