Hawks prospect takes a pounding against The Moose.
Alec Regula is no stranger to throwing his fists around when playing in a hockey game. The Rockford ice hogs defenseman has played 50 games this year and has racked up 69 penalty minutes.
Tonight when the ice hogs met the Manitoba moose, Regula took on Manitoba moose defenseman Tyrell Bauer and safe to say it was not a pretty end for him.
The six-foot-four 218-pound defenseman was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the third round 67th overall. He was acquired by the Blackhawks on October 28th, 2019 in a trade for Brendan Perlini.
During the regular season for the IceHogs, he played fifty games and scored five goals with 16 assists for a total of 21 points. He had two power-play goals and 69 penalty minutes.
It remains to be seen if he will crack the lineup next year as the Blackhawks continued their rebuilding phase but I do believe he will get a shot at trying to make the team next season.
