An Original 6 team announcer was voted the worst by fans
As all NHL fans know, the play-by-play announcer and colour analyst for games are the first voices you hear when you're young. Many were glued to their televisions, watching the games and listening to two men give their take on what they were seeing on the ice and trying to give the fans an understanding as well.
A recent fan vote was conducted by The Athletic recently. They asked everyone who they felt was the best city coverage and who had the worst. It turns out that the Boston Bruins were considered the worst with Jack Edwards leading the pack. I have never heard him speak so I can't offer an opinion.
Blackhawks fans enjoyed the voice of former play-by-play announcer Pat Foley for many years and the last 15 years, they had Eddie Olczyk, the former Blackhawks star who worked alongside Foley and gave the best coverage they can for the fan base.
As with any job, time will pass and people will need to move on Foley decide to retire after 39 years of service in 2022. On the other hand, Olczyk could not find common ground with Blackhawks' ownership and decided to leave the Blackhawks after 15 years and set up shop in Seattle with the Kraken.
