Sadly for the Chicago Blackhawks and their fan base, today is the day that Patrick Kane officially departs Chicago.

Patrick Kane has officially packed his bags up and has cleared his locker room stall out. The Chicago Blackhawks were left in a tough decision by Patrick Kane, reportedly giving management just one team (the Rangers) to make a trade to.

The full trade is as follows:

Breaking: It's Showtime.

#NYR acquire Patrick Kane for 2023 2nd Rd Pick (can become a 1st) and a 4th Rd Pick. #NYR and #Blackhawks plan to conduct 3-team trade call tonight.

Possible Kane makes #NYR debut Wed in Philadelphia vs. #Flyers.

The '3 team trade call' is leaving fans of the Blackhawks and Rangers very intrigued, how much salary is the third team going to be retaining? What kind of compensation will the Rangers be giving them?

Well, reportedly the Chicago Blackhawks are retaining 50% of Kane's contract which is $5.25 million. Then the Arizona Coyotes are retaining 50% of Chicago's 50% share, which is $2.625 million, the Rangers are handing the Coyotes a 3rd round pick in exchange.

Per Emily's story, Chicago will retain 50% of Kane's $10.5 million contract and the Coyotes will take on 50% of that 50% share.

The official trade call between the 3 teams will be made available to the media tonight, where further details will be given out.
