This isn't an impactful or blockbuster trade... but it could be in the future.
Everyone was wondering how the Toronto Maple Leafs would respond to TJ Brodie, Jake Muzzin, and Morgan Reilly being on the shelf. We just got an answer.
The Arizona Coyotes and Toronto Maple Leafs have made a trade. The Coyotes have traded defenseman Connor Timmins to the Leafs in exchange for center Curtis Douglas.
Douglas is 22 years old and was signed by Toronto a couple years ago. Curtis had 34 points in 67 games for the Maple Leafs affiliate Toronto Marlies. So far this season, he has one point for the Marlies.
Timmins was desperately needed, as they were in some trouble with their defensive core.
Connor hasn't done much of anything these past couple seasons, as he only played eight games the past two seasons and has zero points. However, he was a real nice prospect alongside Cale Makar, injuries just stopped his growth. If Connor Timmins can stay healthy, the Maple Leafs have a good player on their hands.
