Defenseman Seth Jones is returning tonight from his thumb injury to play against the Dallas Stars. Jones has been out since Oct. 29, missing the last 10 games. For the next few weeks, he'll have to wear a splint on his right thumb while he's still recovering.
Jones has four assists in eight games this season. Last season, he earned 51 points (5G, 46A) in 78 games. He was paired with Jack Johnson in practice, and he'll play on the second power play unit until he's fully recovered.
With Jones drawing back into the lineup, it's likely we won't see Ian Mitchell play tonight. His return could give the Blackhawks new life, as they've lost eight of the last 10 games they've played. We might also see Caleb Jones hit his stride with his brother back in action.
