The Calgary Flames fan base and organization seem to currently be in shambles after the loss of star player and second highest scoring player in the 2021-22 NHL season, Johnny Gaudreau. Gaudreau chose not to re-sign with the Calgary Flames due to wanting to relocate closer to his family in friends in the New Jersey and Philadelphia Area. It is also believed Canada's vaccinate mandates made it very hard for Gaudreau to spend time with family, friends and loved ones. Although Columbus is not close to home as New Jersey would be, Gaudreau stated in a interview that it is thee perfect distance (6 hours away) from family and friends back home, not too close where they can invade but not too far also.

The decision of Gaudreau leaving Calgary has officially awaken the beast of Matthew Tkachuk's future in Calgary, and it isn't seeming good. The Calgary Flames filed for salary arbitration on Matthew Tkachuk on Monday, July 18. And NHL insiders are claiming he will be traded from Calgary.. within this week!

Reports have surfaced that Matthew may be taking a leap in his fathers footsteps and agree to play for the St.Louis Blues just like his father Keith Tkachuk, both tough as nails.

Well it seems as if the St.Louis Blues tested waters on Matthew Tkachuk, but they did not just test the waters- it seemed as if they went all in offering a developing superstar Jordan Kyrou, defenseman Torey Krug and a 1st round pick for Matthew Tkachuk, Calgary refused the offer..

If you thought the Johnny Gaudreau free agency signing was huge, this will be much bigger simply based off the fact that the Flames have declined a HEFTY offer.
